Plastic pollution is a heavy topic and learning about it can be very overwhelming. It’s important to take time to relax, have some fun, and recharge regularly. One of the best ways to do that is to connect with friends in nature.

What to know before getting started

Spending time just enjoying nature can help build motivation and energy to be better stewards of planet Earth. It’s also a great way to relax, have fun, and recharge. Enjoying nature is protecting nature!

We believe this is so important that we will count the time you spend recharging and enjoying nature towards your Wayfinder Society Hours you are contributing to your community. Let’s celebrate our joy!

What to do

• Take a photo of yourself connecting with nature!
• Consider posting the photo using the hashtags #wayfindersociety and #algalita.

Tips and suggestions

• Stay safe, and go on your outdoor adventure with an adult or friend.
• If you don’t have access to an outdoor space, see if you can find another way to connect to nature. Even in cities, nature finds its way in. Here are some ideas: reading or learning about nature, tending to an indoor plant, watching the clouds, sitting in the sun coming through the window, setting up a bird feeder on a balcony, going for a neighborhood walk to photograph plants.
