Educator Workshop - Microplastics in the Bay Lunch and Learn

Come be a scientist for a day! Join us to study microplastics in ocean ecosystems during our next Lunch and Learn for local educators.  We'll get on the water to sample Alamitos Bay surface waters, then head to our classroom laboratory to process our ocean samples and analyze them for microplastics with microscopes. Includes a tour of the Moore Institute laboratory, which is working to become the first state-accredited lab to test for microplastics in drinking water. Participants will receive a Plastic Ocean Investigation Kit to bring plastic pollution education into their classroom.

20 spots available. $25 materials fee. Lunch and kayak rental included. Must be able to swim (requirement for kayak rental.)
